Certain metadata, such as session information, header fields, event processing steps and registration status are not available via the API. Standard CDOs are accessible via SOAP, REST and Bulk. Events specifically are available via SOAP, but are exposed as any other CDO in SOAP - you would only have field/value pairs and basic metadata on date created/modified.
