Confirmation Email.

We are having a hard time sending confirmation email... When received it goes to Junk/ Spam email... I have looked at the requirements.

  • you may have certain keywords or phrases in your email that are red flags for either spam or junk email
  • sending attachments is a big red flag
  • are you sending to legit customers and honoring opt-ins? are you targeting your audience? if not, then someone may have marked you as spam and it's a domino effect from there for successive emails to that ISP (meaning they think your emails are junk or spam)
  • HTML issues--don't make your emails too fancy or flashy (too many font color changes and such)--some ISPs think "junk" if you have too much going on
  • you may have an extra cautious ISP that is thinking your emails are spam or junk email - if you can identify them, ask to be whitelisted
  • along the same lines, if this is a recent issue, you might have also been blacklisted for a particular email ISP.  Look at your bounce reports--they can help identify certain corporations or (more likely) universities that have you blacklisted. You will need to work their webmaster to get whitelisted.
