How do you track an .ICS file type through an email.

I added an .ICS file through a Save the Date email and can't figure out how I can track it. The file itself was stored under the "File Storage" section in the "Assets" area and then hyper-linked to in the email. The the tracking URL existing when I check the object but I just can't seam to pull the metric.
