First off, I understand this is an unusual request. This is based off a request from our sales team to tweak our current lead scoring model (we are using the Eloqua Scoring Program, not program builder).
The Goal: sales wants to suppress (i.e. don't send to SFDC) everyone within a given segment (this is a very specific segment that we define based on "Titles"). In theory, everyone in the suppressed segment would have a profile score of "D"
The Issue: If a contact enters Eloqua and does not have a title that matches our criteria for A,B,or C they will default to a D and be excluded from SFDC (even though they are not part of the segment that should be excluded)
Possible Solutions: As the title states, I think the best way to accomplish this goal is to have anyone with a title that doesn't match our criteria for A,B, or D to be scored as a C. So Cs becomes the new "low level score" for sales, and Ds are never shown to sales. The problem with this? I don't know what form of criteria I can use to score someone as a C if they don't meet ANY of the D criteria....any thoughts?
Solutions we've ruled out: title normalization program (not possible given our team's bandwidth), creating exhaustive title list for A,B, and C scores (too many titles in our industry).
