In my first journalism class, I had a professor who handed us a sheet of paper that said, "You could look it up." This simple message taught me more than I ever thought it would:
- I don't rely on spell-check or grammar-check. I will go to a dictionary or thesaurus and become better at grammar and spelling.
.- I don't believe we should rely on everything we are told - no matter what the source. If something doesn't feel right, I trust my instincts and dig a little deeper to learn more.
- If I don't know the answer, I don't take a shortcut, but will search for someone that can help me.
Would be interested in what others have learned along the way.
