There's some good conversation in here External activities and lead scoring. as well as a link to a resource Eloqua has taken down (while that sounds useless give me a sec to explain ) - it's been taken down so it can get updated, I've heard rumor that it should be back in a week or so. I'd check that conversation in a week or so to look through the documentation referenced.
